Two More Suggestions

Okay, I have two I'd like to see your thoughts about, besides my earlier one about Hudson University (which seems to have definite possibilities)...
1. The gun used by Josh Randall (Steve McQueen) on Wanted: Dead or Alive was custom made for the show and referred to as the "Mare's Leg." So far as I can tell, the only references to such a gun now are from collectors who will custom make such a special weapon (a sort of "sawed-off Winchester"), and the gun was made just for that series (that is, it's not historical, like the Buntline used by Wyatt Earp). In fact, the gun is one way the film Wanted: Dead or Alive with Rutger Hauer linked to the series (Hauer's character was Randall's grandson and kept the original Mare's Leg). However, two other series have used a Mare's Leg: Lord Bowler carried one on The Adventures of Brisco County, and Zoe did the same on Firefly (and in Serenity). In fact, the identical prop made for Bowler is the prop used for Zoe. Using this connection, the Tommy-verse can branch from Firefly to Brisco County and

Hugh,
you got my respect for that infinite pain threshold you are demonstrating by delving that deep into Muppet lore. Either that or you are a very sick man, if I may say so with tongue firmly in cheek.
I like your WDOA connection. I had that show listed as a CBS@50 x-over with Walker, Texas Ranger. And the generational angle with the Rutger Hauer movie makes for another entry in the list. Still don't like the Firefly connection, though.
Did you know that Electric Company even offers a Jeffersons cameo?
Can you help me with that possible Doc Bricker appearance in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air I queried about earlier?

Well, I am a bit of a Muppet fan, pain threshold/sick or not! ;)
I'll check on the Doc Bricker reference--I can't remember that episode right now, but Fresh Prince was "good" to include links to other shows.
My argument for Firefly is to get those other Westerns in, and if the gun "exists" within that fictional universe, then it's a tie. I remember that Walker episode, which, like most of the CBS@50 stuff, was done as a dream. I don't know if it works with the Tommy-style dream, since Walker had fallen asleep while watching TV. So far as I remember, there were three of those which were presented as being within the context of the shows: Rod Serling on Early Edition, Rob Petrie on Diagnosis: Murder, and Marshall Dillon on Dr. Quinn.
I really do think the Muppets are a good conduit for connections. I didn't know about the Electric Company cameo with The Jeffersons--what was it? EC used to have "blackout" gags with other programs, often used at the intro. Two major ones that I remember are the original Mission: Impossible and an

The dream appearances are something my hosts and me disagree about. I say put them in if it's characters.
The possible Doc Bricker appearence is in 'Ill Will' (FPoB-A ep. #43).
And I screwed up. It's not the Jeffersons in The Electric Company, but the Bunkers (show #166).
And where is that Mission:Impossible cameo? Ben Cartwright is joined by Little Joe, by the way (EC #150), all according to the most semi-useful site on the net, tv.com.
I feel a Warner Western flood coming on - if Bonanza can join the Tommyverse then everything is possible.
Yet another lead that I don't think is in the chart yet, but a friend just told me that the SG1 episode Threads has Daniel winding up in is the Waffle House from Dead Like Me. And he's even ordering waffles.
Sadly, neither is yet in the chart, but like the Grey's/OC connection I made, if one goes in, the other comes with!
