Inside the mind of Tommy Westphall

The Guardian blog discusses our friend Tommy in a particularly lucid post on the subject.

And how grateful am I that Six Objections to the Westphall Hypothesis exists? Because at least then bloggers everywhere can sight that without succumbing to the madness.

Plus I don't have to answer stupid email objections - I just point people there and say I' ( Read more... )

This is from E! Online:

"Do you remember that 'Vanished' show with Gale Harold from last season that vanished from the airwaves? I hear that the mystery from that show is going to be resolved on 'Bones' this season. Fabulous, yes?"

As far as I know, neither show is in the Westphallian version of the TV Universe yet, right? Even so, I thought it might be of interest....

Anybody here ever hear of something like this happening before? Where the resolution of one show is taken care of on another series after the first one is cancelled? I'm thinking it must have happened with some show that was a spin-off of another, but I think this is a first for two shows unrelated to each other.

Of course, I could be wrong. I often am.....

'The Lone Gunmen' comes to mind. Starting out on 'The X-Files', the chaotic trio had half a season for themselves and ended it - production-wise, that is - with 'All About Yves'. It was inanely aired as the second-to-last episode but was really intended to wrap up the season. XF #197, 'Jump the Shark', was the sequel where the trio got killed. Of course, they showed up in the finale as ghosts (or something).

Also, 'Millennium' did something similar with an eponymous episode on 'The X-Files'.

In animation, there was an episode of Justice League Unlimited which wrapped up Batman Beyond (in a similar fashion to the conclusion to Enterprise tying to Next Generation), so that sort of works, although BB was not cancelled abruptly.

Is it just me, or does the text of the 6 Objections page not show up anymore?

There's some majorly wrong with that blog - none of their pages are showing up. So it should all come back in time.

Also, their arguments seem flawed. Namely, "P4"--the second of two contradictory statements they used to disprove the Westphall Hypothesis--is complete and utter bullshit that they utterly fail to explain.
