Another Homicide Crossover

May 27, 2009 10:01

According to Tom Myers'  LO:SVU site, the season finale will guest star Carol Kane reprising her role of Gwen Munch, one of John´s ex-wives who appeared previously in H:LOTS ep. #85 ("All is Bright"), way back in 1997.

This is what makes that whole crossover business so interesting.

Wow, that is an amazing thing isn't it.

It's been a while. How is the list of current shows looking these days. Is the L&O franchise the last gasp? Has the end of Boston Legal also heralded the end of the David E Kelly thread? Or are there some connected show we're yet to see in the UK?

Are any of these shows in the official list yet?

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Dexter
Hidden Palms
Journeyman
Moonlight
Prison Break
Without a Trace

Because if so, we can add the new HBO series "Hung" to the list. All of those shows have in common the use of Finder-Spyder, a search engine. And in the pilot episode of "Hung", Ray used Finder-Spyder to do research on what it takes to be a gigolo.....

Ragarding spaceship cameos, I vote 'No'. This is steering too close to Toobworld generosity (hi, Toby ;-)). Our friend RAF is counting archival footage as crossover material ... same thing: No. But have fun, anyway.

There is an Oz/Seinfeld crossover sketch in a SNL episode. Tempting, very tempting ...

And a 'live version' of Homer Simpson got killed in an X-Files episode (the 5th season premiere with Gibson Praise, if I remember correctly).

Re Sesame Street: If it's characters it works for me, but Sesame Street opens up a whole new dimension of insanity. Just consider the numerous international versions!

Speaking of which: Anybody knowing anything about Munch's PCE appearance??? Apparently, they are on the verge of cancelling it.

I feel a Wanderers update coming - gotta go.

Just looked into the "Bob Newhart Show"/"ALF" crossover, and you might be surprised by the results. Apparently, it comes awfully close to a crossover, but gets blown out of the water by this statement of ALF's, "Of course I know about psychology. I used to watch the old Bob Newhart Show." To paraphrase Jim Carey, riddle me this, riddle me that, but doesn't that shoot your crossover down flat?

Also, I couldn't find any verification for "Providence" mentioning St. Eligius. However, in the episode that it allegedly did occur, I found a crossover with "Passions," which is already in! Weird, huh?

I checked it out at work. When I get home in the morning, I'll delve into it further and hopefully find a way to get back to you. So there's that suggestion - I didn't see any way to comment or send you feedback at the site.

But I did like the stuff I read so far, well mapped out and presented and a fun read, even for this (somewhat) anti-Westphallian....

I was looking through the Tommyverse website and on the cross reference chart, and I noticed something. The Battlestar Galactica/Firefly crossover doesn't work ( ... )

However, if Tommy incorporated elements either from television or his own reality into his daydream, wouldn't that then mean that they were a part of his daydream, regardless of whether or not they existed otherwise? Besides, it is established that Tommy is daydreaming these things. Yet, nowhere is it implied that some elements (other than what was seen in the ending of St. Elsewhere) are borrowed from what he has observed. I realize that this sounds like an argument from silence, but I'm going a different direction with it: Occam's Razor. It is much simpler to reason that everything that appears in Tommy's head is original to that realm of existence rather than just supposing that he stole it from somewhere else. Thereby, it is much more likely to be correct.
