Can we say...

Miserable? Temp hit 103 yesterday and will be about the same today. Its already hard on healthy people but even harder on me. I just walked outside yesterday to empty the trash and got nauseated... less than 2 minutes and it fucked me up. *Sigh* Rain is forecast for Tuesday night and much cooler temps for the next few days after... it'll be nice ( Read more... )

Be safe and wise with the heat, Tommy.

When did Gary not live with you - did I miss something? I hope you are happy and that things are stable for you - you appear to have your head on right and tackling your challenges with great gusto and vigor!

No you didn't miss anything because I never said anything. We went through some changes several months back, and all is well. I just didn't say anything because I didn't want any advice here or there. Last time I listened to people it nearly destroyed a relationship that is meant to be... one that, considering what I've gone through and continue to deal with, has become the happiest time in my life.

As for the heat, eh its St. Louis, so its expected... just not this early.

Your happiness (and that of Gary's as well) are tantamount to my wishes for you, Tommy. Never misunderstand that.

Keep inside whenever possible - it sucks, but it is what it is.

...Hugs....

home-grown fruit and vegetables, i think, are some of the most worthwhile and magical things on the Earth ;-)

People should get back to growing their own food. Its hard to get them to give up their tasteless mass produced junk though. But the difference from that crap and homegrown is like a foul ball vs. a Grand Slam. I'm lucky that the Mid-west is farm country too. The roadside vendors and markets are a treasure :)

I just heard on the news this morning, that Missouri's peach crops will only be about 1/3 of normal this year because of the weather.

Fruit trees can be a pain to deal with, but having easy access to fresh stuff is nice. I miss having my garden out back.

Hmmm, hadn't heard that. Eckerts has locally grown peaches on sale at Schnucks that are nearly $1 cheaper than the shipped in ones. But yeah, I may consider planting a few trees this fall and see what happens.

It has been horribly hot here lately. Last week it hit 117 for a few days. It is finally back down to 105, but I can't wait for the fall. Unfortunately, my aunt's peach orchard in Utah had a huge freeze this winter and now nothing is bearing fruit. They have cherry, apple and peach trees. It stinks! At least here in Vegas we don't have the same amount of humidity you have. Stay out of it if you can, though. Hot air + humidity can equal breathing trouble.

Take care! Be well! I'd say be good, but that might not be what the doctor ordered! :)
