To Christians, sincerely

This past weekend, my chorus sang at a church and realized I can't sing in chorus anymore after this year. I thought for a moment that it ws because I don't like churches, that they repel me, that I have no place in them, and then I realized it wasn't that. I like churches. I don't think the metaphor was supposed to be that literal. I think it has more to do with a)random insertion of shepards into Christianity b) The idea that before God they are powerless, and He as their guide will lead those peeps to glory. It's not so much that people don't make decisions, it's that they should make decisions with God leading the way.

I know. But that still sets up God as a separate force that one should depend on. I'm saying that guidance isn't separate.

well it's a little less rediculous of a position to say that one should rely on God than we are literally sheep. In your paragraph you literally command Christians to stop being sheep, or I guess to stop relying on God. I'm not sure that's much more convincing than Christians commanding you to rely on God. Some on the other side might dismiss your words as simply arrogant.
