I've just watched episode 8, and I'm kinda seriously infatuated with this show. *_* To say it is a subversion of the magical girl genre is an epic understatement. I'd say, if it goes on the way it has for these past 8 episodes, it is gonna revolutionize the genre entirely (/half unintentional reference)

oh man, I *love* Madoka. It's seriously one of the best new shows I've seen in years. I really, really hope it gets licensed over here, I'd buy the DVDs in a second.

You and me both! 8D (Seems time proves we have similar tastes in anime, eh? =P ) I really hope for a good DVD release too--I wanna buy it even if it's a crappy release, but if the licensee does a good job on the R1 product, those discs are gonna be personal treasures X3

I started watching this recently (on episode.. 4?) and I'm liking it so far. It's cool to see darker themes in the magical girl genre.

Not only darker themes, I think it also really scrutinizes the themes behind the magical girl genre in general. It's really thoughtful, which is something that both lighter and darker shows are not necessarily endowed with. *_*
