Omg, Continuum needs to get the Teen Wolf treatment - renewal for a FULL third season. It's so well made but the second series is already on episode 6 of 13 and that's just not enough! It's even made it onto TV in the US, UK, Australia, and (randomly) Belgium

I always laugh when people try to argue that Game of Thrones is sexist. I don't understand? Where are they pulling it from??

So yes, I would like to hear your thoughts on GoT and gender.

Man I need to catch up on the show. the tv night has not been as regular as it used to and I guess I priority was DW. I wonder if they'd be cool if I watch them on my own....

I know! You can call the world they live in sexist, but the writing itself? No. The series is complex in so many ways - from plot lines to individual characters to ideology - so it doesn't really make sense to use binary distinctions like good/evil, typical male/typical female... Yes, sure, there are men in the GoT universe who see women as just toys for their enjoyment, but the way those men are presented doesn't condone that perspective. (I don't want to say it always condemns them either, because again people have complex motivations, hard to judge, yadayada.) Also, I don't think you've seen that ep yet, but Tywin & Olenna "discussion" about their families' sexual rumors is fantastic :D

The world they live in is definitely sexist, and the show has powered up a couple of the female characters* but man, most of the women characters have a lot of power. I really like that nearly every character has a sort of grey area... you can sympathize with most of them, but you also understand that most of the good characters still have some sort of... bad past or something. No one is whole good or evil. (Except Joffrey, who is the Douche King
