First Person Speaking Sample: Beginning internal examination log of subject X2945R5. Matching frequency has been found, and internal projection commences. Unlike most subjects, this rift appears to have illumination. What this means is unknown at this time, but it makes for a very striking appearance. There are no other signs of life as of yet, although this particular layer does not feel too distant from our own reality so it may not be far enough in to break the reality barrier and actually encounter anything. The resistance modifier is minimal, as movement is free, and mental static is nonexistent.

... and Kasumi and Misaki are not here. Our frequencies were synchronized, so why are they not projecting? ... I can't seem to connect to them, either. They must not have been able to enter, for some reason. There was that instance where the bridge was too small to allow more than one person at a layer at a time, so perhaps I would need to move further in before someone else can enter. That leaves this to be somewhat questionable, as then it may be more established as a bridge, and thus would put us at risk of an encounter with others.

Until a lack of danger has been confirmed, this subject will be classified D. Request for regular monitoring to check for any signs of crossing as well. Will now end current examination to allow another to add to the log. Termination Saeki.

Third Person Writing Sample: Reiko took a sip of tea, surveying the area both with her eyes and with her mind. The tea was cold, as usual she'd left it a bit too long. Then again, there were more important things to keep her mind on. The tea itself was nothing special, simply a means for her to be able to sit at this cafe without being bothered too much. The staff knew her and that she liked to be left alone, and they would stay away until she flagged someone down.

While the area was vibrant and alive to her eyes, the realm she walked in her mind was bleak and empty. An endless void, stretching out into infinity, punctuated occasionally by brief bursts of random interaction from unlikely places that were never long-lasting. It was strange to think that such a world would exist - but with what they knew about AIDA, it seemed that the only thing AIDA could sense was emotion, and thus why would their world have anything else in it? Was that what drew them to our world? she pondered as she took another drink. That they consumed all the emotions in their own world, and had to find another source? Or is that all they do, go from world to world to feed on the feelings of the living creatures there? Will our world one day become an empty void, just like theirs?

Her grip on the cup tightened reflexively as her emotions spiked, causing her projection to glow for a moment in a boost of power. Luckily, her physical body lacked that strength, and the cup remained unharmed. She set it down, rising to her feet to pay for her drinks and then head out. Break time was over anyway. While physical legs walked, mental legs ran through spaces of nothing as she watched, always alert, for anything that didn't seem right.

Her cell phone vibrated in her bag as a warning before Takumi's voice echoed through her RA unit. The message was simple, requesting her to move to a location where Tomonari had located something and requested backup. She rolled her eyes slightly, knowing him it would be a different situation than what he had reported to Takumi, but directives were directives. She checked the time, mentally calculating the schedule of the train. Fifteen minutes, maybe? She replied back, then began to walk quickly to the train station.

Emotions ran high at train stations, and thus there would be the brief bursts of mental protrusion - not formed enough to create a full projection, but enough to cast a vague shadow of the person for a second. Less-powerful AIDA would occasionally congregate on train stations, and so it was always essential to keep an eye on them in case things started happening. She had come from this station this morning and made sure it was clean, and it hadn't changed. Taking the steps two at a time, she began to hurry. The train would be there shortly, and timing was essential in these things. A swipe of her phone at the turnstile and she was running down the stairs to the platform just as the train pulled up... perfect. If nothing else, she prided herself on her timing. She stood close to the wall of the train, one hand grasping at the dangling strap, the other sending a message that she was en route. Now, as long as Tomonari had something worthwhile to deal with... well, that would be seen soon enough.
