Well my absolute disdain for Microsoft has had me trying to find another OS that I can be happy working in. i found Ubuntu a Linux based OS that Im absolutely lovin. I cant run CS3 in it but I have win xp dual booted on the hard drive so I can still run CS3 and draw while using Ubuntu as my primary OS

Photoshop CS2 works with Wine (Windows emulation for Linux), but CS3 has problems. They are working on fixing that however :) Wine releases a new version every other Friday, it is a quite fast-moving project.

Also, consider trying VirtualBox to run Windows without having to reboot. You need a fairly new processor (anything from the past 5-6 years should be fine) and enough RAM to host both OSes at once.

thanks for the heads up ^v^ though from what Ive been reading most run a dual boot if they don't have a newer set up. My processor can handle it but I don't have the RAM for it. other wise I would quite windows cold turkey. Ive not been happy since the Vista debacle. Only used windows cause I didn't know about anything other then Mac OS and Red Hat. And its generally not a good move to try an install Mac's OS on a pc not set up for it. And I wasnt a big fan of Redhat but have been watching Linux improve greatly over the years. but to think an OS created by its user base could work this well...*face paws* In truth Im surprised and disapointed I hadn't tried it sooner
