Beard Papa's Pipin' Hot Cream Puffs is a Japanese sweet shop represented by Beard Papa, a spokesfisherman who appears to be from the Gorton's family. Do not be fooled by his friendly eyes and cheery smiling expression. Beard Papa is a liar.

Even more confusing to me is that the name "beard papa" seems to be a half translation of the French "barbe à papa" which is what they call candy floss, not cream puffs. But it doesn't sound like you were getting candy floss either.

Beard Papa moved into the Upper West Side of Manhattan to great fanfare. Everyone was talking about him.

Two days after he opened, though, everyone was talking - about how BAD the cream puffs were.

I really love the way New York City interprets bad food as damage and routes around it.

in the second section (referring to the Choux pastry shell), they make a typo and refer to Beard Papa as 'Bear Papa.'

I like to think it's a freudian slip on the part of the webmaster, but it does put a whole new spin on the business with 'pipin' hot'...
