I think honestly, I don't have as much breath control as I used. Asthma is pretty rampant on both sides of my family, and I used to pretend that I was unaffected by it... but really I'm not. The stuff I recorded in Mascot, it was very "gung ho"... but the vocal timbre was much richer. I think my voice has mellowed out a lot, and I can't do as much as I used to. I need lessons. I need lessons. I really need lessons. I really need to do something so I'm not sitting on a rocking chair at age 65 thinking if only I had gotten lessons.

I think also the acoustics of the places I sing in... vary a lot. And I'm never going to be the best judge of my own voice.
