I might just have to get onto this fan fiction thing. I had a marvelous idea (Rocky and Bullwinkle slash), but I've yet to write about it. Only it would be PG-13 at most, since I basically know nothing about the adult stuff.
Okay, there's an image I could have done without. Personally, I don't see why Rocky and Bullwinkle are a cult classic, but okay. And if you get bit by yer muse, go for it. And it's not hard to Google writing aids for the adult stuff. Then again, it took me just about a decade to get the balls to write my first adult pieces. Really, that first step is the hardest.
If I were to actually do it, I'd have to spend a lot of time thinking about puns. I mean, that's what Rocky and Bullwinkle was: basically just a series of puns.
I was actually reading an article on Salon that said that almost all slash writers are women.
Well yes, of course. That's what made it entertaining. And cringe-worthy.
*nods* It's true. I mean, I occasionally come across a guy writing slash fic, but for the most part, it's women and a goodly percentage of those women are, surprisingly enough, het women. And many of them have husbands/boyfriends. I've know several who have their hubbies beta read for them, even. There's one or two whose hubbies actually write slash with them. But those are extremely rare. Yes, most slash writers are women. Personally, not having the equipment to know better, I say we do a damn fine job of it. Though, like I said, some of us have hubbies and boyfriends or have actually had sex to get data from.
