My latest addiction

Okay, y'all know I go through obsessions like someone goes through seasons of clothing. Sometimes like someone goes through socks. Usually, it's a whole fandom. Don't worry, still stuck on SPN (Go Gabe/Sam!!) though I have picked up a liking for the Left 4 Dead 2 fandom (Nick/Ellis FTW!) and the Dragon Age fandom (F!Mage/Collins is adorable and ( Read more... )

I LOVE Magic the Gathering but I haven't found anyone that plays since I moved to Alaska. What's your favorite deck color??? I made a Black/Green deck that is rather awesome because I'm able to add these HUGE creatures and I can resurrect them from my graveyard and that's pretty neat. :)

I've noticed I tend to lean towards Black, White and Green. Just last week I finally finished my Black deck and, damn, I love it. Could use some tweaking, but overall it isn't too bad. Huh. I need bigger creatures in my Black deck. Right now I've got a couple that kick ass and one that gets more powerful the lower my life is (forget what he's called, but he starts out 13/13 but with -X/-X where X is my life total, so I can't even pull him out until my life's at least 12, but once I do, the more life I lose, the stronger he gets.

I love my black creatures because some of them when they die give all other creatures on the board -1/-1 which kills a lot of white cards and the rats that are 1/1. I just got to be careful I don't have any 1/1 creatures. :) My brother tended to like white decks but he'd but in about 4 Balances and it would wreck havoc. :)

*L* I don't have enough cards to specialize in a certain type other than color at the moment, though after seeing and playing a friends Zombie deck, I think I might head that way. Vamps are nice, but the Zombie deck...wow.

Haha, my sister tried so hard to get me into Magic, but I was too little and girly at that point to give a damn. By the time I wasn't, she stopped being interested in it.

That and I don't know anybody around RI who plays. (And I'm not a social person, and therefore not the type to go out looking for them.)

*L* I've got a friend here who, evidently, has been fighting her friends' efforts to get her into Magic for YEARS. She knows everything and can quote rules and lore and cards like a pro, but she refuses to play. Quite weird.

Ouch. No, there's a small, but thriving population of magic players here.

Wow. I never got that far. I was little when my sister was trying to get me into it, like maybe six?

Yeah, I'm not quite interested enough to go looking.

*L* Lucky. If you can avoid magic...do. Yeah, it's fun but...it IS kinda like a drug. Kinda...hard to quit. Also, gets to be expensive.

*L* I got it for XBox when I started playing. It's addicting. I really like the white deck you get on that game and am thinking of trying to recreate it.

Oh yeah. You got one? You have to have Gold membership to do it (well, I suppose Silver to download it). Go to Game Marketplace and just to a search for Magic the Gathering: Duel of the Planewalkers. I can't remember how much it costs in microsoft points, but it isn't terribly bad. The dude who got me into it recommended I play it to get practice in and used to the system and such. It's helped.
