I can totally relate to how you're feeling, Tanya. Especially the part about feeling sort of numb after the initial news sinks in, & then going back & forth between that & being really emotional. Been there ( ... )

Thanks for the comforting words. I know that you probably know exactly what this feels like (especially with the recent loss of your grandfather).

No flights have opened up.. so it looks like they will be leaving tomorrow at 6am. They are lucky to be able to go at all.

Thanks for keeping my grandma in your thoughts.. thats very kind of you.

Yeah, I went through this with my mom & my grandpa. It sucks.

Too bad they couldn't get an earlier flight, but tomorrow morning isn't that far away at this point, at least. So you said you're coming back home before your parents get back from Germany, right? Are you still going to drive up to Bellingham for a few days anyway to see other people, or just stay in Portland the whole time? I can't remember what you said in your post the other day about your plans.

Yep, another year of journaling! :D I enjoy talking with you, & even though many of us from the WC have gone to different sites to journal now, I'm glad we're still keeping up with each other. If I didn't have online friends to chat with then I would never keep up with my journal...I've never been good at journaling when I was just writing to/for myself, ya know? ;)

Originally we were going to Bellingham the 26-31st. With the recent events, my parents wont get back until the 31st in the evening. We fly back to San Jose (from Portland on the 2nd). So it wouldnt make a whole lot of sense to drive up to see them for such a short period of time. Plus, they may not come back on the 31st.. it depends on my grandmas condition ( ... )
