How do you do the live painting, personally. Do you have plan before you start? Or maybe a 5 minute buffer? Or is every brush stroke improvised?

I had sketches of two of the faces that I worked from, everything else was improvised. I was pretty loose about strokes because the event was more about the process than the finished result. They just wanted people to be able to watch you paint, really.
