Went with some friends to Olive Garden for lunch yesterday. We got there, OG said there was an hour wait for a table. I said their food certainly isn't THAT good, goodbye, at which point my friends remembered there is a Johnny Carino's right down the street from the Olive Garden. Fine with me, better food anyway. I got the chicken fettucine, of course, which was plenty good...but was rather low on the sauce and did not have basil dusted around the plate that you could leave as a garnish if you are weird or mix into the dish if you like good food.
*sigh* Going to the chains is so hard after having been to a real Italian restaurant, run by a real Italian family, with real Italian recipes really made fresh, not from a can. Still wasn't BAD, just the dish was totally not what it could have been.
However, the chianti vinegrette on the salad kicked some major butt.
