I really liked this. The subjects of each section seemed to come at random, but you tied them together smoothly and poignantly. Well done.

Thank you kindly! I was working on stringing things together in a way that worked emotionally without being too whiny.

I loved the history lesson at the end. I guess it is possible to escape from hell if you don't abandon hope. As to the carpet installers, it takes a special kind of incompetence to carpet over a heat/AC register. You tied the sections together very well.

Thanks! And oh man, you get what you pay for with free carpet installation. Lesson learned. I've almost made it through to the other side where I can just enjoy the nice clean soft new carpet, though. Almost.

I loved the perspective here. Each story leaves you with something to ponder on and learn about. The last one is inspiring. A wonderful take and thanks for sharing this :)

This is so gorgeously written. You've made something fearful into a relatable experience. This is important for the reader because it carries the unspoken message that hope is always an option lest you wouldn't be sharing this story and your thoughts and these tangential experiences.

I admire you so much and have grown to see this admirable glimpse of who you are and what your journey is over these past few Idol seasons. I'm so glad you are willing to share of yourself in this way.

I do agree with you that one uncompromising aspects of sharing one's life with animals is that we learn about the life/death cycle in these compact ways that absolutely prepare us or at the very least make things undeniable.

*hugs*
