This piece is an intersection with the patient and talented beeker121, who also provided excellent concrit for me on it, despite my last-minute work. Check out her entry for the flip side of my Post-Mother's Day thoughts.

Trigger warning for a somewhat graphic description of my pretty normal C-section and some of my thoughts about it. All that is in the ( Read more... )

You are a beautiful example of motherhood. I'm always inspired by you, and the girls.

You inspire me too, my friend! Apologies for being less communicative than I'd like to be lately. The balancing struggle is real, but you and yours are very often in my thoughts.

This is so sweet! I hope your daughters read it. I didn't find the c-section part off-putting in any way.

Oh good, I'm glad it worked and wasn't too squicky. I had a whole bunch of stuff about the c-section pre game in there that was maybe more graphic and more requiring of the TW, but it was less on-topic so it got cut.

(Cut is a super bad pun up there and I don't apologize for my internal giggle at it.)

I've got a c-section scar from navel downward. I was eight cm's too! But they lost Alicia's heartbeat and I started bleeding, and the last thing I remeber was telling them to get the baby- and then waking up in a panic asking where my child was. Thank goodness my then husband was in recovery with her! I tried to get off the bed to go looking!

They were a bit angry when I refused an automatic re-sect for my son's delivery.

It's hard watching them grow, gain independence, you can't hold them too close however, as it will inhibit their spirits! Hugs and peace~~~D

Oh mama, I feel you on the c-section not being ideal situation. I mean we do what we must for everyone's best chance. I fought to try to go natural, but was denied. At least I got to stay awake, I suppose, but the drugs made all three of us so so loopy. I shouldn't ever complain, because on balance it was all good.

Hugs and peace to you, too!

Twins. I don't know how you do it. I get exhausted with just one. But then again, I'm not a parent, so I don't know how I'd handle it.

I don't have any non-twin parenting to compare it to, which I think is a blessing. I don't think anyone knows how they'll handle this kind of thing until they're in the maelstrom, really. But also, I love it.
