This was a wonderful juxtaposition, between the cold and hungry Trahlyta and the over-warm, well-fed family whose worry is whether they will be out of cell phone range. Very nicely done and so well written.

I utterly adore this and I love love love this sort of juxtaposition! I also think it's great that you included children because I often think children are the ones who imagine lives come before in the very place they are currently standing! Great stuff here!

I liked the contrasts in these two settings. I find myself wondering whether Trahylta died on that mountain sooner rather than later, or whether she decided to follow after her family in the spring.
