Failure? Failure is sitting here on a cloud-shrouded-moon night with this bottle of sweet cheap port wine, eating a grocery store picnic with numb fingers and talking to you. I love the free flow, and how that adds to the confusion and uncertainty. And I like that line towards the end about things not being easy when they're done right.

Thank you! I find the free flow invigorating to write, but then I worry about it after it’s out there more.

Thank you! Solitude can be the harbinger of good things or woe, I think depending on context. But I was definitely in somber failure mode for this.

This is such a strong strong bit of writing! Very impressive. Your voice just SINGS here. I think you're so very right about this interpretation of "failure." Also, this with all my might - I miss being the person that I was when we were friends.

Your writing is wonderful. Always.

This piece evoked so much in me, so many ideas and ideals pulling this way and that and in the end, what is failure? If success is just in the doing, the surviving, then even failure...isn't really.
