Wow, this could be real. You are kind of scaring me! :)

I do think it's true that we each tend to have an inability to see what could be changed that could improve our lives.

A lot of food for thought.

And honestly I empathize with Ben. I too sometimes eat for no good reason. Poor guy!

I definitely eat from boredom if I’m not careful about it, too! Or from habit, because I want to go do something. And even knowing I’m doing it doesn’t always help me to stop it.

Very thought-provoking with relatable characters and situations. I'm in the "not fond of pork rinds" category. LOL

I thought I was also anti pork rind, until I had some fresh made ones at a real place in Chattanooga called Main Street Meats. There is something in the flavor that isn’t my favorite, but I do enjoy the crunch.

Ooh, very interesting “Big Brother” type premise.

Personally I’m in the pro-pork rinds side, however my housemate is highly averse to crunching sounds, so I totally understand that side of it too.

This was really freaky; I'd say freakier than any of the stuff I've been doing for the competition so far. Are you planning on expanding on this at all? I'd love to read more. :)

Oh, this is very well done, and I love that your excerpts capture both Janie's and Ben's perspectives. For Ben, the tedium and low morale and exhaustion of working for a state environmental agency and project management, the guilt of being a larger person, all of that is so well captured. And for Janie, being younger and newer to her program and wanting to please, but questioning the ethics in the back of her mind while still plunging forward. So very good!
