You're not the only one who sensed that, but that has been the case of a character doing something that I didn't tell them to do. Reg did not hav an ulterior motive, he's just trying to be a good friend :)

I love Reg. Loved him on the show and love him in most of his incarnations in fic...especially here. I have always liked anyone who really and truly likes Luke.
