I can see where you're coming from, which is why I need to get BF2 and internet ASAP, I may not be the best at FPS(not the worst either), but at least I can take direction!

Get a headset with a mic,too. =p

But ya, you'd be suprised at just how much more one more person in a squad can help. And if accuracy is a worry for you, I may suggest playing as anti-tank of support. Did I mention that support has an infinite amount of ammo, including grenades? Just thought I should mention that. XD
