I realize that some people think it's a little tacky to drop lots of LJ and other names in your posts, but in this case, I'm gonna just go ahead and be tacky. And I was more than happy to help you out. I would've dragged Bert along as well except he would've thrown his bad back out carrying a pillow. And besides you had pizza! Can't ever pass up pizza ;)

Well, it was great seeing you, and I really appreciated the help, not to mention the fabulousmartini glasses, complete with glass olive toothpicks you gave us . . . made me want a martini real bad.

I'm glad you got all moved! It's great that you got all that help. Welcome to San Francisco!

As far as namedropping, I found out that it serves a useful purpose later. When both dacubsf and handlebehr passed away, I found it easier to find memories of them on my journal when I had namedropped. That realization makes me want to do it even more than I have been.

You know, I'd never thought about it that way . . . you're totally right.

At the same time, I can also see the point of people who become annoyed with incessant "I'm very cool, and here's the list of also-very-cool people with whom I rub elbows on a regular basis"-type posts. I guess it's possible for one to mention names without doing so to self aggrandize . . .
