I go through this elaborate routine of procrastination when I have something really, really important to do. Normally, I'll clean my house, do laundry, and find other ways to forestall doing what truly needs to be done ( Read more... )

There's a really good, fairly short read called "Whatever Happened to Justice" by Robert Mayberry. Quite good. He also has two rules of ethics that are the basis of tort law and criminal law:

1. Do everything you say you will do.
(this is the basis for contract law)
2. Do not encroach on another person or their property.
(all criminal acts violate this law)

He also discusses the history of justice in a unique way.
