Home selling advice?

Aug 21, 2009 19:07

So, our old house has languished on the market for about nine months, with minimal interest. I'd like to give our realtor the boot, drop the price, and try selling it ourselves. Does anyone have experience with a home selling website or service? I'm particularly interested in one that offers MLS listing. Thanks much, folks.

Your impeccable logic highlights one of the reasons I dislike the realtor profession - the compensation is designed to work against the client's interest. Your advice would be painful to take given a recent price drop we've taken, but very sound. Thanks.

I can ask my dad for info. He's a realtor, so he might be able to offer insight (and your place is not his territory, he works almost exclusively in Bergen County, so that's not an issue).

I'd appreciate any advice/input he'd have. We're looking into listing the place on MLS through a flat fee service, as well ad advertising it on the web and locally.

Yeah, not saying we're the only ones suffering in this market. I'd still like to give an aggressive selling push a try.

I have a family friend that assists with home auctions. I'll get you his info.
