I'm a little late to this party, so hopefully by now you've found some friends. :)
I've been out of college for...almost 10 years? And I had the same problem as you. My first semester I had no friends, I went home all the time, I was lonely and miserable. But I found one or two activities that I liked, and I made friends from there. (I even went through THREE roommates in a semester!) But by the time Spring Break rolled around, I didn't even go home because I was having so much fun. Find one or two things that you're really into and really enjoy-a club, a team, student government, homecoming committee, whatever-and you'll find friends there.

I will be posting things just like that.
I didn't make hardly any friends last year. People always came to the door asking for Alyssa (the roomie). When she wasn't there they left.
I eat alone. Ya know what, I like it better sometimes because it takes less time and I can think.
I know! At home, I have a lot of friends. I can hardly keep up with them all. They don't even believe me when I say I have no friends.
Oh goodness, you'll see, we're soooo in a similar situation. I considered transferring but didn't because I wasn't sure it would change anything. :/
