In-Character Information
Name (and age/-relevance if applicable): Dimentio, and he’s as old as he wants to be.
Series: Super Paper Mario
Occupation or status upon arrival: Drifter, wanderer, unwanted house guest

Personality: To this little jester, life is a huge joke. Everything and everyone was put into existence solely to entertain him and give him something to do. Dimentio is bubbling with laughter and cheeky grins perpetually, and always has something bizarre and witty to say. He’s happy to the point of being manic, and you’d be hard-pressed to catch him shedding tears that haven’t been brought on by a raucous bout of laughter (most likely at someone else’s expense). He’s sadistic, twisted, and expectantly demented. But he doesn’t pick up on it, what with his clouded, slanted views and morals. As far as he’s concerned, if something is good for him, then it’s unquestionably good, unless it’s bad for him or he doesn’t like it. In that case, it’s evil and bad and has no place in his world, so he may just have to blow it up or teleport it far away.

Dimentio’s something like immortal. He’s been alive for longer than you can count on your fingers and toes, and the fingers and toes of all your friends, and this has given him quite a loose grip on mortality and the concept of life and death. Without having to fear the cold grip of death or the withering effects of age, he’s gotten cocky and very, very conceited. But he is by no means reckless, and any move he makes that could put him in any kind of risk has most likely been carefully calculated and thought through. He’s a very clever guy, and will do just about anything to achieve a goal, even shunning his ego and becoming subservient to someone he absolutely despises if it guarantees the achievement of his goal. How tenacious.

Backstory: A long, long, long, super long time ago, an aged old wizard created a powerful, immortal entity to carry on his vast knowledge before he passed on. This entity promptly went insane due to being born with 80+ years of information, but no life experience to know how to use this knowledge. He also dressed up like a clown and liked to make up funky metaphors about absolutely everything. This demented little freak with magic powers called himself “Dimentio” and went off to do some diabolical stuff for his own enjoyment. He also started a book filled with nasty prophecies and bad luck, and let it fall into the hands of people who added to its pages and death count. This book was the Dark Prognosticus.

Eventually, this book wound up in the hands of a heart broken Count, who wanted to utilize the power of the book and the information within to destroy the world that took his true love away. This was a really, really stupid reason for wanting to destroy the universe, but it had to be done if Dimentio was going to step in and rule everything in existence. So he rolled with it, becoming a loyal minion to the Count, until his master was dethroned, granting the jester his chance to wield devastating power and obliterate everything. And he would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn’t been for those meddling Pixls and their never-talking plumber, Mario, who cruelly attacked and destroyed him. This all was made into a game that Dimentio got no royalties from whatsoever. (And it probably doesn’t exist in this canon for obvious reasons.)

What brings this person to Diamond City?: Defeated, bereaved, and ruined, Dimentio wandered through the child friendly equivalent of Hell, and eventually escaped via exploitable loopholes in the fractured system of keeping damned souls in check. But what was the point of living if the only conceivable way to achieve his ultimate goal of total, universal domination had been torn asunder? He certainly didn’t know, but he felt that wandering around as a broken husk of a clown was an utterly useless and unbecoming existence. But what else is there for him to do?

Well, he’s in Diamond City, trying to figure that out. He’ll wander around, maybe do some odd jobs at his convenience (He’s sort of a jack of all trades. Being alive for over 1500 years has given him the time to take up a few hobbies.) and just try to whittle away the time until he can find a new purpose for himself.

Misc. Notes:
+He can turn human because he’s ~*magic*~. That’s how he does it.

+ He’s three dimensional as a default, whether he’s human or normal. He can change this very easily, though. He can also teleport, turn invisible, duplicate himself endlessly (the more clones generated, the dumber they are. More than 2 and they start to get a bit dopey.), shoot painful energy orbs, and create invisible boxes that can be filled with explosions. To counter all that power though, he’s very weak and helpless physically.

+ When human, the upper half of his face is obscured by the mask. Do not remove the mask, for the love of God do not remove the mask. We don’t know what’s under it and we probably don’t want to.

+ He’s got a personal pocket dimension referred to as “Dimension D”, which he can enter and leave on a whim. He’s using this little place as a self sufficient bedroom of sorts, and it’s why you won’t see him sleeping on a park bench.
