How many more useless holidays do you people have? "Mother's Day"? Honestly? What is the point? Wonderful, you have or you had a female parent. Good for you, good for her, but what is the point of celebrating it? Most people have a mother out there somewhere, but celebrating the fact seems like it just shows it off to people who cannot say a ( Read more... )

But it still just seems to be hurting everyone. What is the point of a holiday if all it does is hurt? Perhaps some people have mothers worth celebrating--others do not. It seems wrong to have a holiday dedicated to honoring someone who may not deserve it and hurting those who are not as fortunate as some others.

You're quite the pessimist, aren't you?

I can see your point. I myself didn't have a mother long enough to remember her face. But I've seen nice parents. There are mothers out there who do deserve to be shown some affection for the love and effort they put into raising their child. It's not showcasing them, it's just showing a little appreciation towards the one who raised you. It's a holiday for them. If I were back home, I'd have left a present for Grandma Melanie over at the orphanage yesterday. She's the closest thing to a mother I had.

It's true that in a place like this, with such a mix of people with strange histories, Mother's Day isn't the most appropriate holiday. But it wasn't made for this place. If you're going to take out bitterness over you own family issues on a holiday like this, then keep it to yourself. I know it's hard to believe, but not all families are dysfunctional.

...Damn, my head hurts even worse now.

I, uh...not to barge in, but I've heard you're the one to talk to about clearing the monsters out of here. I did a couple of runs into one of the warehouses with Ashelin before.....well, before. So if you need me, I'm up for it.
