I once had my cat shit in her carrier in an airport. But never anything like that.

I highly suggest leaving a carrier in some place comfortable, with a soft blanket, cat nip and a heating pad underneath it. If she can go in the carrier normally in the house, eventually she will feel better about being in it when she's in a car.
