Inoue Orihime Icon Tutorial

Tis Para...with an icon. An Inoue icon. And I don't even like her. Too bad she makes pretty ones. XD So sit back and enjoy. Btw, this is for Photoshop Elements 5.
We'll be going from
to

First, I used the image from here.

After that, crop out Inoue and make the image 100x100. Do some Auto Color Correction, Auto Sharpen, Auto Contrast, etc and clean up the image. It's pixely in the link and the coloring is weird. You ought to have something like this
when finished.

Not bad...but the quality is mucky...and it's weird looking to me. So duplicate the image 4 times and set them like this:

First copy: desaturate it completely (Ctrl+Shift+U) and set it on soft light, 100%.
Second: Put it on Screen, 100%. Duplicate this image and leave it as is.
Third: Take the sponge tool and put it on desaturate, 26% flow. Run it over the image to mute it, then put it on soft light, 100%.
Fourth: Switch to saturate and put it on 15% flow. Run it over Inoue's hair and face, then put the image on Multiply, 23%.

1)
(
77words) on Multiply, 100%. Erase the part covering Inoue.
2)
(unknown) on Soft Light, 100%.
3)
  (
cursetheflame) on Soft Light, 100%.
You should have something like this:
. It's bright, yes. But we're about to fix that. Duplicate the base twice and drag them to the top, setting both layers on Multiply, 38%. Time for more textures!
4)
(unknown) on Screen, 100%. Erase the part covering Inoue.
5)
(
silverqe)on Soft Light, 56%.
6)
(uknown) on Hard Light, 100%. Erase the part covering Inoue.
7)
(
silverqe)on Soft Light, 63%.
8)
(unknown) on Screen, 65%.
9)
(unknown) on Soft Light, 100%.

Finally! Success!
. And although it pains me to say this, she looks really pretty. XD We're almost done though...so just hang tight, loves.

(unknown) Flip this texture horizontally and put it on Inoue, Soft Light, 100%. Erase everything covering her.

(by me) Take this and invert the colors, then copy and paste it on Inoue. Put it on Soft Light, 71%.

Lastly, I duplicated the base image and dragged it to the top, then I desaturated it and put it on Soft Light, 72%, followed by going to Brightness/Contrast and putting the Brightness on +1 and Contrast on -3, then making a new layer and filling it with black. That layer was put on Soft Light, 17%. ^^

. And look how beautiful it is. Inoue does make a pretty icon, I have to admit. You could add text, but I don't want to. I think it'd look silly with it. XD Plus, the textures have some reminiscent of tiny text.
