Wow. Of course I've heard of the restaurant, but I didn't know it cost that much. Does that include wine? If so, okay. ;)

I think so. There is also an option to bring your own wine, which is nice.

Heck, let Keller pick the wine. You only pass from youth to decrepitude once! ;)

Best 30th birthday party I remember was for my best friend, and it was in the City! She had just had a bad breakup and was pretty bent about the whole turning 30 thing so her friends went all out. She got picked up at her house in a hearse and taken to the party, where the hostess had baked a coffin-shaped cake with black frosting and an "R.I.P. Sue's Youth" plaque on it. We'd secretly been in contact with her roommates so we knew about it and drove up from the south (dropping the kids at grandma's along the way). Showed up at the door with top hat and tails and a bundle of wilted flowers (I wonder if this is where Tim Burton got the idea for "Corpse Bride?") and she was totally shocked. I was the only sober person after a couple hours and had to drive everyone home.

I think your plan is better though ;)

Haha, that sounds fabulous.

Honestly, I'm not freaked out at all about turning 30, I feel like this is the best time of my life, as cliched as that sounds.

I just wanted another excuse to justify going to French Laundry, and a 30th bday is a good one ;)

I know, the price almost scared me off! But this is really a once in a lifetime experience, and I think it's justified to do for my 30th. I have 4 months to save up :)
