012. CHAINS, HEECHUL/KANGIN

heechul hates it when kang in tries to hold his hand. warm fingers slowly lace together with skinny ones until heechul tears his hand away a second later, noting that kang in must seriously be too stupid to not get the point by now. he gets up and pulls his clothing back on carelessly in the darkness of the bedroom, swallowing a tug of tears down in his throat. these were chains he did not want.
"...don't go."
heechul nearly lets a sob escape as soon as the words hit his ears, but he keeps himself composed, slapping kang in's arm with his tshirt before tugging it on over his head. "shut up." even the smallest fraction of light would expose heechul's bloodshot eyes and flushed face, so he keeps his head down, using fingertips to fix strands of his messy hair once his clothes are back on his body. all he wants to do is leave the room and go to his own, take a shower, wash away all the sticky sweat on his skin. "i'm going to bed."
kang in watches the older boy quietly, his mouth curving with a touch of sorrow. he says nothing but the curve of sadness on his lips can almost be heard like crying in the middle of the night as he moves over and clutches onto the loose fabric of heechul's tshirt at his waist, wondering for a second whether heechul put the wrong shirt on, because this one is too big for him. kang in pulls him over and holds his waist with both hands clumsily, pressing soft kisses all over his abdomen through his shirt, silently pleading that he stay just a few more minutes.
there's a long pause as heechul watches this. skinny hands brush away tears before rubbing at the top of kang in's head, pushing it away after. he adds in an extra shove to really make sure kang in falls back into bed. "are you deaf?"
the younger boy falls away only to come back again, fingers wrapping around a skinny arm. "heechul." his voice finally matches his mouth, that touch of sorrow, their hushed grief. heechul stares at kang in's face in the darkness, eyebrows quirked. there is nothing wrong here, kang in just sounds like an idiot, as always. heechul pulls his arm back and slides bedroom slippers onto his cold feet, shuffling towards the door without another word.
kang in takes only a second to realize that heechul is walking away, and he doesn't understand it but there's something about tonight, this night in particular-
"heechul." he says one more time, nearly falling out of bed in his rush to get clothes on and get to his older bandmate. the other boy opens the door and looks back at him like nothing is wrong.
"go to sleep, youngwoon."
kang in inhales slowly. his pajamas are a rumpled mess, so he quietly yanks at them to straighten them out, baring his teeth with a clenched jaw. the moment lays over them silently in the darkness until the younger boy closes the gap between their bodies, tangling his fingers into heechul's hair and kissing his lips. he pushes his tongue into his mouth when he feels heechul grab his tshirt tightly, knuckles white, using their bodies to close the bedroom door. muffled moaning, dirty kisses, choking back words so it won't get too serious.
heechul knows what happens when he calls kang in by his real name. he just likes to pick the worst moments to do it in.
