Basic
Name; Ashe
Age; 15
Location; Milwaukee, WI
Job; School, occasional theatre work, chores
Pets; none
Body Modifications; four piercings, random scars
Hobbies; sketching, journaling, taking photos of weird stuff
Favorite Bands; Linkin Park, Evanescence, Ani D, Kittie (just a wee bit mainstream, haha)
Say something funny/interesting in a different language [make sure you tell us what it means!]; Ca ne vous regarde pas! (It's none of your business!)
Favorite word & why; blueberry because it sounds squishy w/o having to look at a blueberry
Worst fear; spiders
Something most people don't know about you; My feet have been a size 7 since the 7th grade
How do you feel about...
Politics; I don't know enough about politics to form an educated opinion :(
Animal rights; I eat meat/poultry/etc but unnecessary cruel treatment of animals (i.e. throwing a cat out of a car window) is wrong. Plus, if you bust into someone's house and their dog comes at you and you shoot it, you're in the wrong. What the heck else do you expect a guard dog to do?
Downloading music; I don't do it, but I don't see how catching one person out of every 100 (reeeally bad statistic) is gonna help anything.
Drug use; Your life. You screw it up, your problem. Just don't force it on me or anyone else who doesn't want it.
Slang terms [ex. retard]; I hate it when people use "gay" to describe something negative, but I contradict myself by saying "retarded" to describe the same thing. I use slang like "shiznit" and "what's crackin'" to make jokes of the 'white/black girl' image I've gotten. Fun stuff.
Your school or workplace; I love my school, honestly. It's extremely refreshing from my middle school, which was crap.
Drafting & the army; I don't enough about drafting/army to say anything on it.
America's youth in general; There seems to be this whole "Oh I'm so depressed" trend floating around. I go off on anybody pretending to be depressed cause I know people who are clinically depressed and it's not 'cool'. Plus, we (mass generalization, whoops) don't have respect for anything anymore. It's horrible.
The term "selling out;" I just say, don't change yourself just to sell anything. People said Metallica "sold out" because they made a music video to their song "One" (I'm pretty sure it was "One"). Uh-huh, yeah. I just go back to my original statement.
Importance of grammar; Everyone misspells words/uses wrong words in incorrect places, we're human. But purposely doing it is just plain lowering your own intelligence cause eventually you'll start doing it unconsciously.
Essay
Write a paragraph describing yourself; I'm 5'1", lesbi, and black. I make fun of my "white/black girl" image because I used to get made fun of years ago. For once, I'm finally secure with that. Theatre is my absolute passion, I'm a trained dancer and do voice stuff every so often. My whole life is mix-match, from my clothes to my tastes to my friends... nothing matches and everything clashes. It's crazy. But despite that, I'm finally comfortable in my own skin.
What are 5 things that you feel very strongly about & why?
1. Destroying bisexual stereotypes-- It pisses me off how so many people think bi girls are all sluts, can't stay with a woman, and can't be trusted. Some people don't even consider it a valid sexuality, I want to change that.
2. Getting rid of unnecessary labels-- Some labels are necessary, like mother and dentist, but others (goth, punk, etc) don't need to be used in that way. They only add onto separation of people who would normally get along.
3. Having confidence-- I'm not the prime example of confidence but it's good to have some high self-esteem in you.
4. Perserving the performing arts-- It's a wonderful way to express yourself if you aren't cut out for sports or technical stuff (like me). It shouldn't die.
5. Random Acts of Kindness-- In the words of my awesome friend, Laura, "This world needs more huggin' and less muggin'." I couldn't have said it better myself.
What do you think defines the word unique? (Besides its unique spelling okay corny) Just being yourself no matter what anyone else says. It sounds so cliche and repetitive but it still makes sense. It's hard if your conscience is dwelling on what people say about you, but it takes balls to change that and not listen to people's tauntings. Just be you. And if you're what people consider a "prep", so what? Be the best damn prep you can be! It's you, you can't change that.
What is something unique about yourself using your definition? Everybody wants to act 'cool' and not act all "OH MY GOD!!!" and be energetic and happy (which goes back to my depression tangent), I act myself, I go "OH MY GOSH!!!" and act energetic and happy, I call people out who try to judge others. Who are you to say what somebody else is? I act "ghetto" sometimes cause that's partially who I am. But I'm one of the few people I know who can wear all black, chains, have blue hair (it's not anymore), 70+ bracelets and platform boots and say "Dude! I don't wear no weave! This is all my hair!" when asked about my hair. But that's me. And I use double-negatives (Don't type them though). I'm a little bit o' everything :)
