It should be obvious.

One shouldn't have to pay for one's salvation. Much less at an hourly rate.

If a religion isn't willing to give out a free copy of its main book (its "bible", so to speak), then just stay away. They're not there out of concern for your ultimate well-being. They're there to get as much money from you before you fold.

"Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wanted to make a million dollars, the best way to do it would be to start his own religion."

those can only be the words of a man who really didn't want to write. when you want to write, you do it for free, and consider yourself lucky if anybody's willing to pay you anything a word.

also, Markab? o_o

Ahahah.

Yes. Markab. In Scientology, they're apparently aliens involved in the big explodey space drama which occurred long long ago. I think you have to be really high up on the Scientology "Bridge" and pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to be "officially" told this, though.

You know who you should talk to about Scientology sometime ... my uncle! Boy has he ripped them a new asshole.

Good 'ol L. Ron is a self admitted con who based his whole religion on absolute fantasy.
