computers, innernets, phones, OH MY

i'm considering purchasing a new laptop, getting innernet and phone service at home, and possibly cable.  i don't know why i'm so anti-all these things, but it's probably time i join the 20th and 19th centuries respectively.  i have filed my tax return so it will pay for this, but i'm still hesitant to actually purchase until i have the cash-in-

hmmm. all the reviews I read on this one were good! Any suggestions or one you'd recommend? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, but I do want something that works. :)
