smell and taste are most definitely linked. If you plug your nose and blindfold yourself, you woun't be able to tell the difference between an onion and an apple (because their textures are similar).

fyi: for a good distraction from any homework, and a really sweet, unconventional love story (something that usually happens in movies), check out the LJ spotlight "<3 story". it's long to read, but really really cool (bittersweet). the guy is really cute too. ;)
