In addition, the short stories that I have enjoyed so far have been a little more graphic than I am accustomed too, but often are full of literary content and deliver an underlying message. Don't be afraid of giving examples for the wrong meaning. The thing to do is to _deduct_ meaning from what is in the text. Read carefully, note what's there, and then ask yourself what it all adds up to. You can't go far wrong that way.
