Not surprising. English food has been so bland and even unpleasant for so long that most people here of a 'good' English chef or restaurant they assume the food must be French, French-Russian, Italian, Carribean, anything but English. As for Eels; 'Jellied Eels' are a perfect example of what I mean. 'Jellied Eels' Have the unlikely distinction of being bland & unpleasant
