For those of us who are less informed than we should be, what is "this" to which you are referring to?

Vague pronouns WILL kill you one day. Probably because someone who was raised by someone like my mother will stab you to death because you insist upon using them.

the 'this' is the part in italics.

quote from moveon:
Their "nuclear option" is a parliamentary maneuver to eliminate the centuries-old right to filibuster (carry on extended debate), placing absolute power to stack the courts in the hands of one party for the first time in history. They [the majority party, so now republicans] could launch the "nuclear option" at any time. so in other words, it gives them the option to kill debate over the nomination of judges. even if all those judges are good people, that's still an awful and scary precedent to set.

It's unlikely, frightening as it is -- too many R's in the Senate are decent people, hard though it is to accept for a leftie like myself... last checked, the support for this was low but still scary.

I'm really more concerned by the spin. Dems can say on the news "Yes, well, we only blocked 10 of 214 nominees" or whatever the statistic is and the Republicans can just ignore them. That's frightening.

But then everything about late democracy is frightening. 280 million is a lot of people. America should maybe be broken down into several smaller countries, except that that would suck.

overall, i agree. however, i still think people should call, because i feel like the more overwhelmingly we say "SEPARATION OF POWERS, PLZ" the more likely it is to work..?
