what's your favorite christmas music? i'm thinking classy, not silly. i think for me, the ultimate song would have to be "Silver Bells," sung by (i think) Bing Crosby

I really love trans-siberian orchestra. What else? Let's see, there are a couple of versions of O Holy Night that I love. Especially when male tenors sing it. And I agree with choral versions of Little Drummer Boy. Sadly I can give no specific artists, I just know them when I hear them on the radio.
some of emma's favorites: merry christmas, happy holidays- n*sync (shut up) maybe this christmas- ron sexsmith the christmas song- nat king cole little drummer boy/peace on earth- bing crosby/david bowie december 24- jimmy eat world (this might not be the name of it...) have yourself a merry little christmas- judy garland happy holidays/the holiday season- andy williams holly jolly christmas- burl ives welcome christmas- the grinch the miracle of now- mr. magoo's christmas carol the entire muppet christmas carol soundtrack baby, it's cold outside- not the dean martin version...the other one i have the holiday inn remix
Are you thinking, perhaps, of either the Ray Charles/Nina Simone or the Doris Day/Bing Crosby version?
I should have listed that on my favorites, but I don't really think of it as a Christmas song as much as a winter song. I also really like (in the "that's funny" way) the Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong version.
ooh ooh. i was looking through my music just now and found the Crash Test Dummies version of "The First Noel." which i like. when i don't pay attention to the lyrics.
i know, right? there's a distinct lack of lower-pitched voices in pop music. saddy saddy. and they don't do it for every song, but i really dig male/female vocal harmony.
i recommend "God Shuffled His Feet," and "Superman Song" (which may or may not be the actual name of the song). but mainly God Shuffled His Feet.
bwahahahaha i lied and will never stop commenting.
I've always loved "Carol of the Bells", and this year, I'm finding myself really into "O Holy Night". Also, there are some versions of "Silent Night" which just utterly blow me away.
On the sillier fronts, "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Santa Baby" (the original Ertha Kitt, not the new ones).

12.23.95. Great song, though not so much full of holiday cheer. :)
Also, Grinch! I'm showing that in my class on the last day, because I am that cool.
