I'm going to definitely agree that layerable clothes, for awakeness and sleep, can be good. I always end up being colder than I expect. (You can check weather records for where you're going, at least.) And you can get earplugs at CVS or similar places. Also, if you can, in addition to the ziplocks (smart!), I'd recommend at least one plastic bag big enough to hold your towel or wet/very dirty stuff.

mom notes:

when she was backpacking, she had an overnight backpack and a little day bag, and would sling the daybag so it rested on her front and then the backpack on her back, so she was all balanced.

she says fewer shirts and skirts, recommends just 1 outfit that can go fancy, and everything matching everything else (found those brown or black shoes and skirts yet XD?)

aand pjs? are they separate or just one of your shirts?

other than that she's impressed :D

skirts are because it'll be hot, and i'm not bringing shorts. they aren't fancy at all, they're what i'll wear to wander around museums and stuff. pants are for when it's cold/hiking or whatever.

pjs are a separate set of pants, for layering purposes. not a separate shirt though.

and yeah, with the matching. XD
