Title: untitled
Fandom: Nancy Drew
Rating: PG
Summary: WIP
AN: Not ready to stick this on fanfic yet until I actually have some done, or realize I don't have any ideas, so I'll file it away here. Not that I've used this in over two years, but now's a good time to start!

Joe grinned as he looked around the courtyard of the hotel. It was a gorgeous day, and he could see the sun reflecting off the ocean not far away. He couldn’t wait to hit the beach.

“Too bad Mom and Dad had to cancel their plans, but it was nice of them to let us use the room,” Joe slipped on his sunglasses. What had been supposed to be a getaway for their parents turning into them taking the hotel room.

“No sense in everyone catching Dad’s flu too,” Frank agreed absently, watching a limo that had just pulled up. The door was opening and a tall man with slicked back black hair and dark sunglasses was helping the chauffeur carry out a limp young woman.

“Earth to Frank,” Joe waved a hand in front of his brother’s face.

Frank batted his hand away, “She looks familiar.”

“…she looks like Nancy, only more dressed up,” Joe said before realizing he was talking to Frank’s back while Frank made his way closer to the limo.

“Need a hand?” Frank asked, hoping he’d gotten the right amount of I’m-just-a-concerned-bystander in his voice. It was Nancy, though her hair was done up far differently then he’d ever seen it, and the dress and jewelry were definitely much more expensive then what she normally wore.

“No, it’s all right, she just had a bit too much to drink, that’s all,” the man said easily. Nancy stirred a bit, and her companion shifted her upright. “We’re back at the hotel, my dear,” he turned his attention back to Nancy, holding her steady.

“Good,” she murmured with a strong French accent, “I am never drinking that much again, Reginald.” She shook her head slightly as if to clear it. Frank suppressed a frown, hoping she hadn’t been drugged.

Before anything else could be said, another man strode up, clearly angry and gripped Nancy by the forearm. It was only after the pair started arguing in angry French that Frank realized with a start the man was Carson Drew. He could see Joe staring from the corner of his eye and ‘accidentally’ shifted to step on his foot. Joe closed his mouth as Carson pulled Nancy off through a set of double doors. The man from the limo- Reginald, Frank reminded himself, had taken off partway through the exchange. Frank and Joe exchanged glances before shrugged and heading to the beach. They’d catch up with the Drew’s later and find out what was going on. Until then, they were still on vacation after all.
