Yu-Gi-Oh! GXCharacter Age: 16 (season two)
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is a spin-off sequel to the hit anime about a children's trading card game, Yu-Gi-Oh! The setting of GX is Duel Academia, a school dedicated to training duelists - players of the Duel Monsters card game - to a professional level. The series follows the exploits of Judai Yuki, a talented student of the academy who aims to become a strong duelist on par with his idol, Yugi Moto.
...Meanwhile Konami prays very hard that you will feel inspired to go out and buy some trading cards after each episode.
In the first two seasons of the series, Judai is a protagonist with "idiot shounen hero" written all over him. He inspires all the people around him, and is loud, headstrong, energetic, confident, easily excited, and about as intelligent as a sack of bricks. Although he has good intentions and is generally a nice guy, his frank and brazen nature can sometimes make him a little bit tactless. But above all else, Judai is fun-loving; in fact, he thinks the most important thing in life and dueling is to always have fun. He's very passionate about Duel Monsters, and thinks that dueling can fix all the world's problems and create an understanding between people.

Whew, I finally found someone! Heyyy!! Man, you have no idea how much I've been through today. Here I was all excited about this Duel Camp 'cause I thought I'd get to face off against a bunch of tough new opponents, but the only thing I’ve 'faced off' against so far is a bunch of corn! This place didn't seem so big at first, but every time I coulda sworn I've gotten somewhere, it's like I'm right back where I started. Why does all the corn look the same, anyway?! And why is there so much of it?! I mean, at least grow something easy to peel like bananas; I'm starving! ...But anyway, it's a real relief that I finally stumbled across you! Could you help a guy out and take me to the place where all the people are? Oh yeah, and showing me the mess hall would be awesome, too!
--Huh, what's that? C'mon, enough with the mumbling, have a little confidence in yourself and speak up! Otherwise I'll never be able to understand you. Uh, 'trains'? Huh? No way, I can’t be that far away from where I’m supposed to be! Besides, I’ve been all over the place and I don’t think I’ve seen any of those close by. Let me try that again... Wait a second, did you say 'lame'?! Hey now, don’t you think that’s a little bit harsh? We just met a few seconds ago and all, at least give me a little more of a chance to show off my cool side! ...Wait, 'grains'? Ugh, no more! You're just making me hungrier!
Aah, forget it! I can't take this anymore! Maybe it's a little sudden, but why don't you duel me right now? After all, if there's one way we can communicate, it's through a duel. You see, a person's whole heart is reflected in a duel. So if we just do that, I’m sure we'll be able to understand each other, even if none of the stuff you say out loud makes any sense! And, well, I'm really excited to see what kind of skills you’re packing, too! Going all out with someone whose moves you've never seen before is always a blast. So get out your duel disk and let's have a fun d--
Hey, whoa, don't go falling apart on me now! That's your precious dueling arm, so you should take better care of it!
