I'm honestly trying not to laugh right now. I mean, I feel empathetic towards you, but also very amused.

For the record, you might want to check out the fun goodies in the Microsoft Windows Vista EULA, which you should probably do sitting down and not while depressed. I hear one of them is that you're not allowed to downgrade, as if that's some kind of mortal sin.

Personally, I think a lot of that griping is overblown. Vista supports a lot of DRM models, but it doesn't enforce their use. I didn't have any problems with any of my music files, and nothing prevents you from ripping to non-DRM formats. If you are dumb enough to buy DRM protected music, then that's your own fault
