I've been waiting for Vista for over a year. So I've been saving my nickles and dimes to so I could buy a fresh new Vista machine as soon as it hit the market. I'm honestly trying not to laugh right now. I mean, I feel empathetic towards you, but also very amused.

For the record, you might want to check out the fun goodies in the Microsoft Windows Vista EULA, which you should probably do sitting down and not while depressed. I hear one of them is that you're not allowed to downgrade, as if that's some kind of mortal sin.

I was so pissed that I talked Dell into refunding the money I spent on the OS.

Personally, I think a lot of that griping is overblown. Vista supports a lot of DRM models, but it doesn't enforce their use. I didn't have any problems with any of my music files, and nothing prevents you from ripping to non-DRM formats. If you are dumb enough to buy DRM protected music, then that's your own fault ( ... )
