My view on the subject, is just realize that you are only schooling in Florida for another two years. Not even!! And then you can go live in Oregon for the rest of your 60 years or so. And what are two years out of that? Not much. :) Don't base your schooling location on the weather environment, but on the quality of education, the rapport you've built here and will continue to build by being in one place all four years (which you can't do if you transfer), etc. Plus, you'll have your Oregon summer vacations :) Just hang in there and I'm sure you'll be glad you did! :D

I know how you feel, except being on the nice, sunny Florida coast, I'm in bumfuck Schenectady, NY. Suck it up!

I may be getting ties with IBM here, at HQ. If they hire me afterwards, I can try to transfer to Beaverton.

But, hey, at least we left the state. I think it's pretty pathetic to live one place for your entire life and never experiance another place that really makes you appreciate home. Good coffee, New York, come on, it's not that hard!

Lifes too short and screw the rapport. You can make a good rapport no matter where you are. If you don't like it there, that's two years of your life that you won't get back that you could have been having a good time. And basing your college experience completely on quality of education is not the best of ideas. You should base it on quality of life. Quality of education is what you make of it and you can get a good one anywhere. But if the quality of life there(based on other factors) is not what it should be, then why waste any breathing moment not making it better. If you don't like it change it.

My two cents at least.
