[A week, or a little more, has passed. Miranda comes now to the house in the woods, to the woman with hair like hers, who has said she will make a dress. When she comes to it, she knocks lightly on the door, as someone or other has told her she must do.]

Zara, however, is gone underground with the forge god, and who knows when she'll ever come out again.

The door to her house is unlocked, and Miranda can easily find her way in if she tries it.

In which event she'll run into a small harassed man on his way out. He looks at her sharply, and then looks again. "Nobody's home."

She looks a little startled, but she nods. "Thank you, sir."

"Don't bother," he says sourly, and moves for the door.
