The US sadly isn't much better. Granted, we have no legal national language, but keep having people bring up English as the only national language every few years.

I'm very impressed at 6 languages. Trying to learn German was difficult in high school and Polish is somewhat confusing (but then again I need to spend more time on it, too!)

If I was English and someone asked me if I only speak English it would be acceptable.

At least when Americans are ignorant they aren't arrogant about it. They are usually very sweet.

In school I learned English, Welsh, German and French.

How is the Polish coursework coming along?

I have a feeling a lot of Americans actually don't realize that Welsh is a language, let alone one that is still spoken. We can sadly be very insular in that way ( ... )

I personally cut American people a lot of slack if they are unaware of Wales and our language, you may well be quite an insular nation, but you are a HUGE nation too ( ... )
