He's not going to greet Peony though, he's just going to gather data on the Psyduck, since he hasn't seen one yet. So Peony can most likely also hear these words with the sound of the Pokédex;

"Psyduck, the Duck Pokémon. If its chronic headache peaks, it may exhibit odd powers. It seems unable to recall such an episode."]

[ He was going to say hi but okay, maybe not. Instead, he awkwardly listens to the electronic voice. Hands on his hips now and with a voice of slight disbelief ]

'Chronic headaches'? It's a duck-thing... how can it get headaches?
