I keep thinking about my current three favorite musical acts and coming to the conclusion that I'm a prick. I only like things that sound like [insert silly modern music]. Then I actually listen to a song by one of my favorite three (Radiohead, The Notwist, The Flaming Lips) and hear something truly astounding that I'd never thought of before.

To be fair, the Beach Boys and the Beatles were both being very inventive in the 60's, influencing each other significantly.....But yes, that guy is a dumbass and must be torn apart by the many arms of Vishnu.

Ok, true. There was a shitload of creativity in popular music from the '60s. It wasn't all the Beatles. That's just a small semantic point though. His claim that they weren't creative enough is wildly unfounded.
